The lipstick red Audi S4 MT6 came with a stick shift, a six-speed, a bold move as others are moving towards competitors are even moving their highest performance cars towards “automatic only.” The 3.2 liter Fuel Straight Injection (FSI) engine is a showpiece for direct fuel injection. Instead of fuel going into via the intake manifold it gets shot right into the combustion chamber. Multiple gains include finer mist for better flame-front, the cooling effect of the fuel allows for higher compression ratios for turbocharged engines, and some, net gain are around 10% over standard fuel injected engines.
Through a quietly implemented program Audi has increased the amount of aluminum used throughout their car line, including building engineering intensive aluminum chassis making the car 10% lighter than the previous model. Less weight means that 265 horses at 5,000 RPM plus 243 pounds of torque driving a 60/40

split using the four-wheel drive system produce zero to sixty in 6.3 second and a real 17/26 for a 20 MPG average on premium fuel. Bonus points, digital nannies are not needed, and handling is improved as less weight is tossed back and forth when carving up back roads during playtime. How to describe the S4 MT6. Simple. This is a great opportunity to make a donation to the local Policeman’s Benevolent Society. This thing is so blasted smooth and quick on its 110-inch wheelbase that you have to learn to keep an eye on the pods in front of you. Look carefully, that’s not 35 on the speedo, you’re hitting 65 and climbing. Ride is slightly on the stiff side possibly due, in part to the 245/40/18 optional summer tires that make their presence felt with speed bumps. Flat cornering is a given on any road, grip is intensive. Mind you, this is a four-door, family on board. Plenty of room front
