The Rosner Files
1
The Fusion was launched a few years ago with a fair amount of ballyhoo. This time Ford was really serious about building a smaller mainstream sedan, well, maybe The underpinnings of the Fusion come from the Mazda Six ~ not a bad place to start from. The Fusion suspension improves on the Mazda design by nicely correcting some of the early chassis “looseness” of the Mazda Six without adding noticeable stiffness to the ride.
The exterior of the Fusion is another place Ford improved upon the original. The Fusion looks solid, chiseled and sculpted. An understated elegance similar to that of the much-admired last generation Audi A4. Cut-lines show that the assembly-line people are doing their jobs as the gaps are tight and consistent on all the exterior panels. Speaking of taking a nice to touch but offers excellent page
from the Audi book ~ the interior of
the Fusion consists of hard and soft plastics that are not onlyfitment. Bonus points for the use of matching patterns and a charcoal black color
with aluminum accents throughout instead of an incongruous pastiche of colors and patterns that are still all too common.
