The Rosner Files
Press the fob to unlock the door at night and the light under the side mirror comes on to ease finding the door handle. The soft touch plastics feel nice as you reach to slide into the towering seats. The distinguished looking dash has simple, logical controls. It benefits from really large buttons that are easy to read.  The pistol grip shift is comfortably at arms-length.
Entry and inside headroom for six footers with hats. Room for five within the supple, supportive perforated seats front and rear. Adjust the seat height, the steering column, tell the pedal cluster to come just a touch closer and check out the thick rubber mats on the floor.
Headlights come on automatically.  Rain-sensing wipers adjust to the drizzle.  HID headlights bathe the road in near daylight brilliance, like a movie set.
Slumping a little in the leather seats we move smartly down the road. Rain coming down cats, dogs and several other animals, but the ride and control inspire confidence.
Pillow soft, the suspension allows the 105-inch wheel base to glide over road imperfections. Something of a surprise considering that the LR 2 sports burly 235/55/19 wheels. A bit a controlled sway on a steep corner made it clear that one should not push too hard in wet. Turn on the front seat warmers, add a bit of heat for the rear passengers via the rear HVAC controls.
3.2 liters of V-8 produce 230 horses at a lofty 6,300 RPM.  The 234 foot pounds of torque at 3,200 RPM provide a nice depth of power, which, when transmitted through its six-speed took the 4,255 pound LR 2 and its passengers comfortably through
everything Mother Nature tossed at us. The LR 2 has a taste for premium, even in the fuel it consumes from its 18.5 gallon tank. Rated at 16 and 23 we saw an average of just over 17 MPG in very mixed driving during some really nasty weather. The LR 2 can tow a 1,650 pound trailer w/o trailer brakes and is rated to tow a 3,500lb trailer with trailer brakes. Handy for towing home anything that one might want in terms of a small racing car.

The LR2 looks good anywhere, from out in the woods where its suspension is clearly amongst the best in class, to the Country Club, the school yard or horror of horrors ~ Home Depot. The Land Rover LR 2 is soothing to drive. In near gale force winds, with rain coming down in sheets, it felt as safe as being in a bank vault, but far more pleasant. A nice bit of English Country Living on four wheels.
