Puebla, December 14, 1958.  Julio "Bache" Mariscal, aboard a Ferrari Testa Rossa, and running by himself (in class), given that there were no other entries in his class, he reached a new record on the 9th lap.  Bache stopped the watch in 1'22.1", having achieved 153.648 KPH. His maximum velocity was 240 kph on the back section of the circuit.  Mariscal ran in the third race of the Guadalupano IV Award, going 20 laps in a period of 28' 27.9", and his velocity was 147.540 kph total.  Bache's prowess overcame what had been done first by the Italian Umberto Maglioli, and after that by Ricardo Rodriguez, in the circuit’s history.

Mariscal also took the Tourism D class honors in the morning's twenty lap race.  He covered the competition's 70 kilometer distance in 37'50", driving his Opel Cadet.
